A Community Space

For Plant People

Plants show just the same sorts of complex and sophisticated behaviors that humans do, from language, to sentience, to intelligence, to the creation of cities, to cooperation in groups, to complex adaptation to their environment, to protection of offspring, to species memory that is handed down through the generations.

Peer-to-Peer
Discussion

One of the best ways to learn is through sharing what you know with like-minded peers. This social group meets once-a-week to share space, offer community and discuss that month's theme. Broad monthly themes may include anything from using nature to facilitate personal healing to books and events that have inspired your love of plant medicine.  Everyone is welcome at these meetings, even if you know nothing about--but are interested in--the current month's theme.

Classes & Workshops

Are you interested in learning about a particular aspect of plant medicine? Sonoran Desert Plant Club will routinely host classes and workshops aimed around a particular topic. Topics may include anything from herbal medicine and physical healing, plant communication and attunement, magickal and meditative uses of plants, historical and folk remedies, and how to increase potency of herbal medicine

Additionally, we're open to hosting classes out of our downtown studio. Please reach out to us with ideas about how we can help facilitate your teaching.

Herbal Medicine Events

From time to time, Sonoran Desert Plant Club will host plant-related events, such as plant walks in the Sonoran Desert, community gardening, overnight trips, or intensives from experienced practitioners working in the field of plant medicine.

Please check in with our calendar or sign up on our mailing list to be notified of upcoming events.

Group Meditation

Interest in plant medicine often goes hand-in-hand with curiosity about consciousness exploration. Join us for re-occurring group guided meditations as we explore using flower essences paired with intention to tap into the creative power of your mind. The mind, when used consciously, is a powerful tool to shift one's personal beliefs and create lasting, tangible shifts in quality-of-life.

Everyone is welcome at these group events, but people who come with a particular goal in mind (such as physical or emotional healing) find the most value.

ABOUT US

People are like plants in the sense that only when they are surrounded by conditions that nourish and sustain them, are they able to fully take root and bloom to their highest potential.

The Sky Islands Plant Club is a community that sprung up out of necessity: a necessity to find other people who are as interested in learning about and exploring the hidden lives of plants as we are. We hope for this community to be a place where people can share time, space, and mutual interest as we learn about plants in a systemic, practical way. In doing so, may we work to foster a greater, more compassionate connection with the living world and with our own selves as integral parts of that world.

We are an organization that produces a variety of educational content, community opportunities, and peer support through our ongoing gatherings.  We are open to everyone who wants to be a part of what we have to offer.
